HERZEGOVINA WINE ROUTE

With wine through time

With its sub Mediterranean and Mediterranean climate, Herzegovina is a region where Mediterranean fruit and vegetables thrive. Many think of it as the “California“of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Grape vine, fig, peach, tangerine, apple, pomegranate, olive and other varieties, as well as medicinal herbs such as sage, heather, immortelle, etc grow here.

It’s exactly because of this mild climate that Herzegovina is the biggest and single grapes and wine producer in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Two autochthonous varieties, Žilavka and Blatina have long ago acclimated to the region and yield crops and quality like nowhere else.

Production, which meets international standards, in our winery, with the help of modern technology, conducted by centuries old recipe. According to an age old recipe and with the help of the latest technology, a new generation of wine that will mark the future has been produced in Imperial vineyards Mostar. Besides native, now the world’s most respected, varieties, here are first class products and

Nuić vineyards are located in the southwestern part of Herzegovina, in Crnopod between Medjugorje and Ljubuški, where the autochthonous varieties Žilavka and Blatina are mostly grown. The vineyards cover an area of 35ha, perfect for growing vines. The history of the Nuić Vineyard begins in 2004 when the extremely beautiful Orlovac location was cultivated. Valuable hands surrendered to the rugged red soil and over 30 000 vines were planted on an area of 7 ha In addition to the autochthonous Herzegovinian varieties Žilavka and Blatina there are also Ben and Krkošija as well as Trnjak Cabernet Sauvignon, Alicante Bouschet and Plavac Mali
